Teen Abolitionist Leader of a Growing Effort to End Modern-Day Slavery

When Zach Hunter was 12 he learned about slavery and wished he could have lived during that time, so that he could free slaves. So it came as no surprise when he learned that slavery was still happening today that he would want to have a part in their freedom as well. His parents, however, shook their heads and told him he was only 12...what could he do?
Zach's young age did not deter him though, and now he has begun a growing movement to champion the cause of those still bound by slavery. As head of the "Loose Change to Loosen Chains," campaign and author of the book, Be The Change, Zach has spoken at conferences, concerts, and schools to spread the word that in today's environment regular people have a chance to change someone else's life.
According to the CBN News article, Zach's inspiration is derived from the Bible; Proverbs 31:8-9, where it says to "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
Zach is often compared to another famous abolitionist—William Wilberforce—the 18th century British politician whose life inspired the new movie, Amazing Grace. Now he's the student spokesperson for their new campaign called, "The Amazing Change."
He's also inspired many others his age. He's started his school on a school-wide competition to see which grade can raise the most money to go to causes dedicated to freeing slaves.
Zach reportedly wants his generation to be known as the "Peace and Love Generation."
"Not like the 60s—without God," Zach explains, "but maybe we could try to bring it about with God, because with God's help, all things are possible."
